What is Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)? How is this encryption protocol
practically implemented in the field?

This technical 3-hr course is for engineers interested in a more in-
depth understanding of real-world QKD, as it pertains to terrestrial and satellite-based secure communications.

Learners will be introduced to both prepare-and-measure (BB84 protocol) and entanglement-based (BBM92 protocol) schemes. We will also discuss the known vulnerabilities in a physical QKD system (Quantum Hacking) and how to mitigate these attacks.
