Quantum information is extremely fragile and therefore needs specialized hardware to transmit, manipulate, and store the photonic qubits to maintain their Quantum State.

This technical 3-hr course introduces terrestrial-based Quantum Communication Networks.

Learners will explore the differences between classical and quantum communication, what is the Quantum Internet, and gain an overview of current terrestrial-based Quantum Networks (fibre, free-space and underwater).

This will be taught through the lens of the most promising intended uses for Quantum Communication.
